[ttpp] is a unique card game that blends the strategic elements of golf with the classic mechanics of a 52-card deck and two Jokers. Designed for players who enjoy tactical decision-making and score optimization, this simulation offers a fresh twist on traditional card games. Each player starts with six cards dealt face down, forming a 2x3 grid in front of them. The remaining deck is placed face down as the stock pile, with the top card flipped over to begin the discard pile.
The goal is simple: achieve the lowest possible score by minimizing the point value of the cards in your grid. Over nine rounds—representing nine "holes" in a golf game—players aim to swap high-value cards for lower ones or pair cards of the same rank in a column to nullify points. The player with the lowest cumulative score at the end of nine rounds wins the game.
How to Play
Play begins to the left of the dealer. On their turn, a player draws one card from either the stock pile or the discard pile. They then have two options:
- Swap: Replace one of their six face-down cards with the drawn card. The new card is placed face up in the same position, revealing its value for the remainder of the round.
- Discard: Place the drawn card on the discard pile, ending their turn without making a swap.
If a player successfully swaps all six of their cards so that they are all face up, the round ends immediately for all players. Each player then reveals any remaining face-down cards, and scores are calculated for that round.
Card Values and Scoring
Scoring is based on the following point values:
- Joker: -2 points (a rare advantage!)
- Ace: 1 point
- King: 0 points (a valuable card to hold)
- Queen and Jack: 10 points each
- Number cards (2–10): Face value
Additionally, if two cards of the same rank are in the same column, their combined value is reduced to zero, rewarding strategic placement and planning.
Game End and Winner
After nine rounds, all players sum their scores. The player with the lowest total score is declared the winner. High scores indicate poor performance—just like in real golf, the lowest score wins!
What's New in Version 20.3
The latest update, version 20.3, released on August 5, 2024, includes improved AI behavior, smoother gameplay transitions, and enhanced scoring feedback to help players track their progress across all nine rounds. Minor bug fixes and UI optimizations ensure a more enjoyable and responsive experience for all players. [yyxx]
