Story

In the DC universe, multiple parallel dimensions exist simultaneously, known as alternative universes. In these unique realms, events unfold differently, leading to multiple outcomes.

Injustice: Gods Among Us unfolds in a fictional alternative universe where Superman, after being tricked into killing his pregnant wife Lois and millions of civilians in a tragic nuclear accident, turns to tyranny. He brutally eliminates the Joker, the mastermind behind the tragedy, and establishes his authoritarian rule over the planet.

With his mind corrupted, Superman now sees himself as the supreme deity tasked with maintaining peace and order. However, his judgment becomes clouded, leading him to kill anyone he deems guilty.

This cannot continue, or the planet will descend into chaos. A group of superheroes, led by Batman, forms the Insurgency to oppose Superman's dictatorship. Despite their formidable powers, they cannot defeat Superman's One Earth Regime without assistance.
