Story

The story begins in a forest near the village of Riders. Three young friends—the hero, Lilia, and Cheval—stumble upon a shining egg. The trio playfully imitates the Rite of Kinship and are shocked when it actually succeeds! The egg hatches, revealing a baby Rathalos, known as "the King of the Skies," whom they affectionately name "Ratha." They take Ratha back to their village.

Days later, a monster infected with "the Black Blight" attacks the village, leaving devastation and emotional scars on Cheval and Lilia.

A year later, the hero becomes an official Rider after receiving a Kinship Stone from the Village Chief. Cheval and Lilia have since left the village to follow their own paths. Now separated from childhood friends, the hero teams up with the cheerful Navirou and sets off on a new adventure in the world of hunters.
