Palace, also known as Shed, Karma, or "OG," was a staple in my high school's study halls and cafeterias back in the 90s. Its popularity extends beyond school grounds, as it's also a favorite among backpackers, contributing to its widespread recognition.

In response to user feedback, the latest version of the game now includes new options such as the ability to pick up cards from the pile at any time and the rule that a 7 forces the next player to play a lower card. Additionally, you can now challenge your friends in real-time, adding a competitive edge to the classic game.

You can play against eight unique computer characters, each with a distinct playing style, or go head-to-head with friends for a more personalized experience.

Basic Rules:

At the start, each player receives three 'face down cards,' which remain hidden and unchangeable until the game's end. On top of these, three 'face up cards' are placed. Finally, players are dealt three cards to form their hand, with the option to switch cards between their hand and face up cards.

The game begins with the player holding a 3 or the next lowest card. During your turn, you must discard one or more cards of the same rank that are equal to or higher than the card on top of the pick-up pile. After discarding, draw from the deck to maintain at least three cards in your hand, unless the deck is depleted or you already have three or more cards.

2's and 10's serve as wild cards, with 2's resetting the pile and 10's clearing it. Four of a kind, like four 10's, also clears the pile.

If you can't play a card higher than or equal to the top card on the pile or use a wild card, you must pick up the entire pile.

Once your hand is empty and the deck is exhausted, proceed to play your face up cards. After playing all face up cards, you move on to the face down cards.

The first player to discard all their cards emerges victorious.
