Tarneeb is a card game for two teams, each consisting of two players sitting opposite each other at a table. Using a standard 52-card deck, gameplay proceeds counter-clockwise. Each player estimates the number of "Allmat" (tricks) their team can win in each round.

The player who wins the bid to declare "Tarneeb" throws a type of paper onto the floor. Other players must then throw papers of the same type. The first player to successfully match the type of paper wins the "Bamh." If a player doesn't have a matching paper, they forfeit and the "Tarneeb" option is passed. "Tarneeb" papers are considered superior to all others; the player who throws the strongest "Tarneeb" paper wins, unless a stronger "Tarneeb" paper is subsequently played.

The round ends when all players have played. Points are tallied. A team only scores if they meet or exceed their bid for "Allmat." If successful, they add the number of "Allmat" won to their score; the opposing team receives no points. If unsuccessful, the points they bid are subtracted from their score and added to the opposing team's score along with the number of "Allmat" the opposing team won.

If either team wins 13 tricks without bidding for 13, 16 points are added to their score. If a team bids for and wins 13 tricks, 26 points are added. If a team bids for 13 tricks and fails to win them, 16 points are deducted.

The game concludes when a team reaches a total score of 41 or more points, declaring that team the winner.
