Capcom has cleverly hidden a tease for Resident Evil 9 in their latest celebratory video.

To mark reaching an impressive milestone of 10 million players, the Resident Evil 4 development team shared a video on social media on April 25. The video features Ada Wong engaging in a hushed conversation with a notorious villain, then transitions to Leon surrounded by infected enemies wearing party hats, casually approaching a church.

The scene shifts to a rock tune, with Dr. Salvador humorously playing his chainsaw as if it were a guitar. The camera then pulls back to reveal Leon fist-pumping in front of a rustic "Thank you for playing" sign.

However, if you rotate the sign on its side, the boards form the Roman numeral "IX," which translates to the number 9.

While this might seem like a mere coincidence, horror game insider Dusk Golem noted that a lower plank, crucial to forming the "IX," was absent in earlier segments of the video, indicating it was deliberately added. This has led to speculation about its significance.

"I know what you did here," commented one astonished viewer, accompanied by a wide-eyed emoji.

"It was really challenging to determine the next step after Resident Evil 7," Nakanishi stated. "But I've found it, and it feels significant. I can't reveal specifics yet, but I hope you're eager for when I can." Rumors suggest, though not confirmed, that the game will be set on an island reminiscent of Singapore.
