Nearly three decades ago, Joss Whedon transformed a moderately successful film into a groundbreaking television series that profoundly impacted countless sci-fi and fantasy productions, significantly elevating the genre as a whole. Now, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is poised for a legacy sequel, with Variety reporting that Sarah Michelle Gellar is in advanced negotiations to reprise her iconic role as Buffy Summers in a Hulu revival.

In anticipation, we've revisited the original series to select its 15 finest episodes. Premiering on the WB network on March 10, 1997, Buffy the Vampire Slayer demonstrated that compelling television could be crafted around a teenage girl battling vampires, demons, and other supernatural threats.

The show's ensemble cast redefined the concept of a diverse team, portraying the anxieties and struggles of teenagers (and later, college students) against the backdrop of a constant, looming apocalypse.

To commemorate the potential return of this exceptional series, we present the best episodes from the original run. These episodes showcase the pinnacle of Buffy and the "Scooby Gang's" adventures, seamlessly blending absurd humor and intense drama. Note: We've treated two-part episodes as single entries.
