The Pokémon Company International made the exciting announcement during the 2024 Pokémon World Championships. A teaser trailer showcased beloved trainers like Marnie, Lillie, and N, alongside their Pokémon, hinting at the return of "Trainer's Pokémon" cards. The trailer also teased a possible Team Rocket resurgence, featuring Mewtwo and the iconic Team Rocket symbol.
The original Trainer's Pokémon cards were a defining feature of the early TCG. These cards depicted Pokémon belonging to specific trainers, boasting unique abilities and artwork. The teaser showcased Lillie’s Clefairy ex, Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex, N’s Zoroark ex, and N’s Reshiram.
The Team Rocket tease has ignited speculation about a dedicated Team Rocket card set, or even the return of Dark Pokémon—another beloved mechanic from the game's past.
