The Pokémon Company International made the exciting announcement during the 2024 Pokémon World Championships. A teaser trailer showcased beloved trainers like Marnie, Lillie, and N, alongside their Pokémon, hinting at the return of "Trainer's Pokémon" cards. The trailer also teased a possible Team Rocket resurgence, featuring Mewtwo and the iconic Team Rocket symbol.

The original Trainer's Pokémon cards were a defining feature of the early TCG. These cards depicted Pokémon belonging to specific trainers, boasting unique abilities and artwork. The teaser showcased Lillie’s Clefairy ex, Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex, N’s Zoroark ex, and N’s Reshiram.

Rumors of Team Rocket cards have circulated for some time, fueled by reports of a Japanese retailer listing and a trademark filing by The Pokémon Company ("The Glory of Team Rocket"). While unconfirmed, their arrival seems increasingly likely.

Paradise Dragona Set Debuts at World Championships

Meanwhile, the 2024 Pokémon World Championships also offered a sneak peek at the upcoming Paradise Dragona set. According to PokeBeach, preview cards included Latias, Latios, Exeggcute, and Alolan Exeggutor ex. This Japanese Dragon-type focused subset is slated for an English release as part of the Surging Sparks set in November 2024.

The Pokémon TCG continues its exciting updates. The Kitikami chapter concludes with the release of the Shrouded Fable set this month, featuring 99 cards (64 main and 35 secret rare).
