"Now You See Me 3 Renamed; Sequel Confirmed"

Big news for fans of the Now You See Me franchise: the third installment, officially titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, is on its way, and a fourth film is already in development. This exciting update was revealed on-stage at CinemaCon by Adam Fogelson, chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, who also confirmed that Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is set to hit theaters on November 14, 2025, as previously announced.

Ruben Fleischer, who directed Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, has signed on to develop and direct the fourth film in this action-heist series, which has already amassed $700 million at the global box office. The first two films featured stars like Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman. Joining them for the third installment are a new generation of illusionists, including Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt, alongside Rosamund Pike.

Fleischer, who previously worked with Eisenberg and Harrelson on his debut film Zombieland, also directed the successful films Uncharted and Venom, which grossed over $400 million and $850 million worldwide, respectively. Bobby Cohen, the original developer and producer of the series, will return to produce the new films alongside Alex Kurtzman of Secret Hideout, with Meredith Wieck overseeing the project for Lionsgate.

Adam Fogelson praised Fleischer’s work, stating, “Ruben has delivered all of the twists and turns and sleight-of-hand that audiences expect from this franchise while upping the stakes and scale in every way. We can’t wait for audiences to discover what he’s done with the third film and are thrilled he’ll be making even more magic with us.”

Fleischer expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Directing Now You See Me: Now You Don’t was as much fun as making any movie in my career. It combines two of my favorite things — heist movies and magic — and working with this incredible cast was truly magical. Of course, I want to keep it going.”

Despite the excitement surrounding the new films, IGN’s reviews of the previous installments were less enthusiastic. The first film received a 6.3/10, with the review noting, “Now You See Me seemed so promising, but it squanders its cool cast and nifty premise on smarmy, shallow characters and a flimsy, nonsensical plot.” The sequel, Now You See Me 2, scored a 6.2, with the review stating, “Now You See Me 2 isn't the worst magic act in town, but it's all flash and no substance.”

With the promise of more twists, turns, and magical heists, fans of the Now You See Me series have much to look forward to with the upcoming releases.
