Paramount Pictures has announced significant shifts in its movie release schedule, affecting two much-anticipated Nickelodeon films: The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2. These changes will see both movies hitting theaters several months later than initially planned.

According to Variety, The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender has been postponed from its original January 30, 2026, release date to October 9, 2026. This new date marks a nearly nine-month delay from what fans were expecting. This marks the second delay for the film, which was initially slated for October 10, 2025. No specific reason for the delay was provided, but the confirmed voice cast, including Steven Yeun, Dave Bautista, and Eric Nam, remains attached to the project.

The movie, which focuses on the original Avatar protagonist, Aang, in a story set many years after the series concluded, received its official title at last month's CinemaCon. This delay follows the sequel's announcement shortly before the first film's premiere in 2023.
