Titled "Made in Abyss: A Difficult and Mysterious Journey," this new mobile game was announced alongside the launch of its official X account. This account is expected to provide updates as the game approaches its release date. While specifics about the gameplay are scarce at the moment, it's confirmed that this will be a casual mobile title, available initially on Android and iOS platforms, but only in Japan. There's no information yet on a potential global release.

Dived into the Abyss Yet?

"Made in Abyss" first emerged in 2012 as a manga by Akihito Tsukushi, published on Web Comic Gamma. The story centers around Riko, a young orphan residing in the town of Orth, which is perched on the edge of the Abyss—a vast, mysterious vertical chasm teeming with ancient technology, bizarre creatures, and a chilling enigma that has consumed countless explorers. Riko aspires to emulate her mother, Lyza, a renowned White Whistle Cave Raider who vanished within the depths of the Abyss.

On her journey, Riko encounters Reg, a half-robot boy with amnesia. Together, they embark on a perilous descent into the Abyss, fully aware that they might never make it back to the surface.

The manga's popularity led to its adaptation into an anime in 2017, followed by a sequel film, "Dawn of the Deep Soul," released in Japan in 2020. Additionally, in 2022, Chime Corporation launched a console and PC RPG, "Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness," further expanding the franchise's reach.
