This situation highlights the unique nature of Alan Wake 2's exclusivity. Unlike many Epic Games Store exclusives, Epic Games not only published the title but also co-funded its development with Remedy. While Remedy expressed satisfaction with the collaboration and sales meeting expectations, they've since confirmed future titles will be self-published, opening the door for Steam releases. Interestingly, the game hasn't yet reached profitability over a year after its launch.
