Get ready, Avatar fans! Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios have officially announced a brand-new animated series: Avatar: Seven Havens. This exciting news comes as a special treat for the franchise's 20th anniversary.

Created by original series masterminds Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, Avatar: Seven Havens will be a 26-episode, 2D animated adventure. The story follows a young Earthbender, revealed to be the next Avatar after Korra. But this isn't your typical Avatar story. Set in a world ravaged by a cataclysmic event, this new Avatar is seen not as a savior, but as a harbinger of destruction. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin embark on a perilous journey to uncover their mysterious past and protect the remaining Seven Havens before civilization crumbles.

DiMartino and Konietzko shared their excitement, stating, "When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later. This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters.”

The series will be divided into two 13-episode seasons, “Book 1” and “Book 2.” DiMartino and Konietzko are co-creating Seven Havens alongside executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. Casting details are yet to be announced.

This marks the first mainline television series from Avatar Studios, who are also hard at work on a feature-length animated film focusing on a grown-up Aang. This movie is slated for a theatrical release on January 30, 2026, promising a new chapter in Aang's life.

The 20th-anniversary celebration extends beyond Seven Havens, encompassing a wide range of new content, including books, comics, concerts, toys, and even a Roblox game. It’s a full-fledged celebration of the beloved Avatar universe!
