Baldur's Gate 3's upcoming Patch 7 introduces terrifying new evil endings, offering players a chilling glimpse into the darkest consequences of their choices.

A New Evil Ending: A Father's Legacy

Larian Studios recently unveiled a 52-second cinematic trailer on X (formerly Twitter), showcasing one such ending centered around the Dark Urge. The preview depicts the horrifying fate of the Dark Urge's companions as they fall victim to their leader's descent into absolute evil, controlled by the will of their father, Bhaal. The Dark Urge seizes control of the Netherbrain, leading to a reign of terror where companions meet gruesome ends. A chilling voiceover proclaims, "Time for the final act. Your tragedy has become mankind's," foreshadowing a similarly grim fate for the Dark Urge.

Beyond the Dark Urge:

This is just one of several new evil endings promised in Patch 7. Larian previously hinted at additional dark conclusions, including scenarios featuring the Dark Urge amidst a sea of blood and corpses, and a town consumed by "sheer mindless bliss" under the influence of the True Absolute. Importantly, these endings aren't exclusive to Dark Urge playthroughs.

Patch 7: More Than Just Evil Endings

Patch 7 is a substantial update, brimming with new features beyond the sinister endings. Expect a dynamic split-screen mode for cooperative play, intensified Honour Mode challenges, and a highly anticipated modding toolkit empowering players to create custom content.

Larian Studios has confirmed that Patch 7 isn't the final update for Baldur's Gate 3. With crossplay and photo mode on the horizon, the developers remain committed to enhancing the game based on player feedback.

Currently in closed beta, Patch 7 is slated for release this September. While the precise release date is yet to be announced, players can register on the Steam store page for early access.
