Snapchat's 2024 Year in Review: Your Snap Recap

Looking back on the past year? Many apps now offer year-end recaps, and Snapchat is no exception. Introducing the new 2024 Snap Recap feature!

What is a Snap Recap?

Unlike similar features from other platforms (like Spotify Wrapped), Snapchat's 2024 Snap Recap doesn't focus on detailed statistics. Instead, it presents a fun, curated selection of your Snaps from each month of the year. Think of it as a visual highlight reel of your 2024 on Snapchat, rather than a data-driven analysis. The recap seamlessly transitions into your Memories, allowing you to explore further flashbacks from previous years.

How to Access Your 2024 Snap Recap

Accessing your recap is easy. On the main Snapchat camera screen, swipe up to open Memories. (Don't press the shutter button!) Your 2024 Snap Recap should be prominently displayed as a highlighted video.

Tap the video (avoiding the share icon) to watch your personalized recap. The selected Snaps will play automatically; tap the screen to advance if desired. You can save, edit, or share your recap like any other Snap, including posting it to your Story.

Why Don't I Have a Snap Recap?

If your 2024 Snap Recap isn't appearing, don't worry. Snapchat confirms a staggered rollout, so yours may still be generating. The frequency of your Snap usage is a factor; consistent use and saved Snaps increase the likelihood of receiving a recap. Unfortunately, Snapchat doesn't offer a way to request a recap if one isn't automatically generated.
