Code Geass: Global Mobile Journey Concludes Imminently
The strategic tower defense game, Code Geass: Lost Stories, is ending its global mobile run. While the Japanese version will continue, the international servers are officially closing. Developed by f4samurai and DMM Games, and published by Komoe, the game, based on the popular Code Geass franchise, launched globally in September 2023 and will shut down on August 29th, 2024.
Closure Details:
- Shutdown Date: August 29th, 2024. Players will lose access to their accounts after this date. Official global social media will also cease operation on the same day.
- Immediate Changes: New downloads and in-app purchases are unavailable as of today.
Reasons for Closure:
While no official reason has been given, low download numbers and generally unfavorable global reviews likely contributed to the decision. Many licensed anime gacha games struggle to maintain a significant player base outside Japan, where player spending tends to be higher. The game's relatively short lifespan reflects this challenge.
