Certain quests unlock only after reaching Kuttenberg, where you can then travel between regions. With a new region to explore, here’s how to complete the “Under the Straw Hat” quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

Unlocking the Under the Straw Hat Quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

To start “Under the Straw Hat,” you must first begin the “In Vino Veritas” side quest in Kuttenberg. Upon arrival, find Casper Rudolf on the west side of the city, where he’s offering free wine samples. Speak with him to learn he needs information to enhance his wine’s quality.

You can either approach Havel directly and impress him with wine knowledge or retrieve Casper’s book from Adleta to gain more expertise. If you choose Havel, ensure you’re dressed in fine clothes and well-groomed, as he won’t engage otherwise. During the conversation, select “Germany,” “Steinberger,” and “It’s missing ginger” to extract the needed information. Return to Casper with your findings.

Entering the Vineyard

Casper then tasks you with infiltrating a vineyard north of Kuttenberg to learn more about the incense Havel mentioned. Entering the fields directly is trespassing, so stick to the main road and speak with the recruiter. He assigns you the “Under the Straw Hat” side quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Continue along the road, pass a guard at the estate entrance, and locate Jerome on a bench.

When speaking with Jerome, inform him you were sent to report for work. He provides details about vineyard tasks.

Tasks at the Vineyard

Your vineyard work begins the next day. Return to the inn or your lodging to rest, then head back in the morning. To earn payment, move sacks to their designated spots and gather plants like Thistle around the vines. Alternatively, you can skip these tasks and focus on obtaining the secret incense.

The incense, stored as Sulphur Wicks, is in the wine cellar within the main building, downstairs from Jerome’s location. As a worker, the cellar remains restricted, so you risk punishment if caught. Access it by lockpicking or stealing Jerome’s keys.

Locate a chest in the cellar and take all the Sulphur Wicks. For an additional reward, collect five seedlings for Casper. From the main building’s entrance, head straight to the opposite door to find the seedlings, but act quickly to avoid trespassing penalties.

If you complete the work tasks, visit Jerome at day’s end for your wages. Otherwise, return to Casper with the Sulphur Wicks and any seedlings you gathered.

This completes both “Under the Straw Hat” and “In Vino Veritas” in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. You can now pursue other side quests, such as “Master Schindel’s Toys.”
