Should You Confront Wakasa or Otama in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
After the tea ceremony, you should confront Wakasa, who is revealed to be the Golden Teppo of the Onryo. Choosing to confront her leads to a straightforward resolution. Wakasa will invite Naoe to her home for a private discussion. Once inside, you’ll spot a kasa (straw hat) on her wall, the same one she wore during the prologue as the Onryo, confirming your choice. After some dialogue, Naoe can easily end the mission by taking Wakasa’s Teppo from the wall and shooting her point-blank.

What If You Confront Otama in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
Choosing to confront Otama instead leads to a more complicated path. After mistakenly targeting Otama, Naoe will chase and kill her. A letter found on Otama will reveal her corruption, but this allows Wakasa to escape and fortify herself in Osaka Castle with her soldiers. To reach Wakasa, you’ll need to travel to the castle, either fighting through her guards or attempting to sneak past them. Even if you manage to get close enough for an assassination, you'll likely face Wakasa in a one-on-one combat. While the boss fight isn't overly challenging, confronting Wakasa directly from the start avoids the extra hassle and provides a more cinematic and satisfying kill, especially given her role in Naoe’s father’s death.
