Crunchyroll Releases Kardboard Kings, a Card Shop and Collector Simulator
Crunchyroll's Android app now features Kardboard Kings, a captivating single-player card shop management game. Originally launched on PC in February 2022, this title from Henry's House, Oscar Brittain, and Rob Gross (published by Akupara Games) has made its way to consoles and now mobile devices via Crunchyroll. The Kardboard Kings Experience:
Step into the shoes of Harry Hsu, inheriting his card-collecting father's seaside shop and the legacy of the legendary card game, Warlock. Harry's unlikely business partner? Giuseppe, a quick-witted cockatoo with an uncanny ability to spot a great deal.
Running the shop involves pleasing customers (or cleverly outsmarting them for extra profit!). The game is brimming with charming characters, witty dialogue, and references to other card games and anime. Over 100 uniquely designed cards, complete with quirky illustrations and shiny variants, add to the appeal.
Gameplay Details:
The core gameplay revolves around the classic "buy low, sell high" formula, but Kardboard Kings adds layers of complexity. Card conditions, set rarity, foil finishes, and ability popularity all influence a card's value, creating a dynamic market.
A roguelite deckbuilding mode on Card Game Island offers a challenging twist. Compete against skilled duelists, host tournaments, throw booster pack parties, or clear out excess inventory with clearance sales.
