Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss Announced by Creators of The Council
Big Bad Wolf, the studio behind acclaimed titles like Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong and The Council, has unveiled its next project: Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss. The announcement included a stunning CG trailer introducing Noah, the protagonist battling encroaching madness, the submerged city of R'lyeh, and the iconic Cthulhu himself.
The year is 2053. Deep-sea mining corporations inadvertently awaken an ancient cosmic horror. Players assume the role of Noah, an Interpol agent specializing in occult affairs, investigating the mysterious disappearance of miners in the Pacific Ocean. Aided by an AI companion named Key, players will explore the secrets of the sunken city of R'lyeh, solve complex puzzles, and fight to preserve their sanity amidst Cthulhu's maddening influence.
Built using Unreal Engine 5, the game promises surreal and unsettling environments, immersing players in a haunting atmosphere. The recently released trailer hints at a tense and thrilling experience. Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss is slated for release in 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
