The narrative arc of World of Warcraft: The War Within is far from concluded. Beyond the Siren Isle update, Season 2 is anticipated to launch later in 2025, introducing fresh endgame content and the next chapter of this expansion. However, several new story quests within Patch 11.0.7 lay the groundwork for Patch 11.1, centered around the Goblin capital, Undermine. A separate questline concludes the tragic tale of Dalaran's destruction, though it wasn't immediately available upon patch release.

Updated January 7, 2025, by Paul Woodward: The recent campaign quests mark a significant turning point. Dalaran, a longstanding fixture in Warcraft lore, may not recover from the events of The War Within. The Dalaran Epilogue questline serves as a fitting conclusion, offering a proper farewell to this once-important social hub in Wrath of the Lich King and Legion.

How to Begin the Patch 11.1 Prologue

Unlike the Dalaran Epilogue, the "Lingering Shadows" campaign is immediately accessible. Completion of the leveling or Level 80 campaign isn't required. For a spoiler-free and context-rich experience, complete prior storylines first. The "Lingering Shadows" campaign comprises:

• Ringing in the Deeps

• Hey, What's Going On?

After "Found Friends," speak with Orweyna. While not part of the main campaign, her quest offers insights into potential future plot developments within The War Within or subsequent World Soul Saga expansions.

Initiating the Dalaran Epilogue in World of Warcraft: The War Within

Initially, this questline had a three-week delay. As of January 7th, this restriction has been lifted. However, unlocking this campaign necessitates completion of both The War Within's leveling campaign and the Level 80 campaign (unlocked by reaching Renown Four with all four Khaz'algar factions).

If you're unsure of your progress, visit Foundation Hall (the prologue quest starting point for Patch 11.1). If Khadgar is present (on or after January 7th), you can receive a quest from him. His absence indicates unfinished campaign quests. The Dalaran Epilogue quest list is detailed below.
