Dark & Darker Mobile could be getting a name change from Krafton
Krafton is reportedly changing the name of Dark and Darker Mobile and terminating its agreement with Ironmace Studio. This follows a court ruling ordering Ironmace to pay Nexon $6 million in damages over a lawsuit alleging the use of trade secrets. While Krafton denies the name change is related to the lawsuit, the termination of their licensing agreement suggests otherwise. The mobile game will now be a standalone release.
The irony is that Ironmace initially sued Nexon for copyright infringement. Despite the severed partnership, Krafton appears poised to continue development, effectively removing the Dark and Darker branding. This situation opens the door for similar games in the genre.
Despite these developments, the planned global launch of Dark and Darker Mobile (or its successor) remains on track. We will provide updates if any changes occur. We hope the final release maintains the high quality we appreciated in our review.
