The New Denpa Men is returning to mobile devices! This quirky creature-collecting RPG, a 3DS favorite that later graced the Nintendo Switch, is set for a mobile comeback on March 10th for iOS and Android. Could a global release finally be on the horizon?

Given Nintendo's recent mobile expansion, a Switch-to-smartphone port was inevitable. However, few expected it to be the wonderfully weird The New Denpa Men! Gematsu reports the iOS and Android launch date of March 10th. The original game cleverly utilized AR via the 3DS camera, a feature reportedly returning in this new release.

For those unfamiliar, The Denpa Men was an early 3DS title. This AR-based RPG involved collecting the titular radio wave-dwelling creatures from the real world and battling them in dungeons.

While not a Mario or Zelda-level franchise, The Denpa Men has enjoyed multiple appearances on Nintendo platforms. Developer Genius Sonority also has prior mobile experience, having previously released The New Denpa Men on mobile before its Switch remaster. So, yes, we're potentially looking at a mobile rerelease of a Switch remaster of a mobile game.

Interestingly, the original New Denpa Men was Japan-exclusive. The Switch version, however, had a global release. This mobile re-release could mean a worldwide launch for the quirky RPG is finally within reach.
