The team detailed their design inspiration, the evolution of the faction from its "Inferno" concept to the final "Swarm" iteration, and its role within the Jadame continent's narrative.

The Swarm's defining characteristic is its adaptability. Certain creatures possess abilities directly influenced by the opposing unit's level; the greater the disparity, the more devastating the damage. Others, like mantises, strategically select from three distinct abilities each round. Creatures such as worms and locusts exhibit a unique regenerative ability, consuming corpses to heal and strengthen themselves—a skill also learnable by player heroes.

In Olden Era, the insectoid Swarm assumes the role of the demonic force, a race briefly alluded to in Might & Magic 8. While respecting established lore, the developers incorporated elements of body horror and occultism, transforming the faction beyond a simple insect colony into a cult dedicated to a single, powerful leader. Each member functions as part of a vast collective consciousness, existing solely to execute their master's commands.

The Swarm's gameplay centers around a "mono-faction" mechanic, rewarding players for utilizing exclusively Swarm units due to their synergistic enhancements. Swarm troops can summon cocoons, their health directly tied to the army's overall size. These cocoons hatch into temporary larval units, offering dynamic battlefield adaptation.

The Swarm's aggressive playstyle is highlighted by its corpse-devouring healing and empowerment, coupled with enemy-strength-dependent abilities. This approach fosters direct confrontations and presents players with a novel combat strategy.
