After Yasuke hears rumors of “worse men” from his past being active in Japan, the Yasuke’s Past quests will require players to complete the Templar Hunt Objective Board. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to find and eliminate every Templar target in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, starting with Kimura Kei.

How to Find the Templar Kimura Kei in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

To begin your hunt for Kimura Kei, you'll need to consult a ronin contact in Kii. He can be found in the central Nakahechi Route at the inn in Takahara Village. If you're having trouble locating him, utilize Scouts to pinpoint his exact position. Look for a building marked with green flags next to a cherry blossom tree. Inside, you’ll meet a ronin adorned in Oda Clan attire. Engage him in conversation, and he will direct you to find a recruiter named Kumabe Ujiie.

Where to Find Kumabe Ujiie

Kumabe Ujiie awaits in northern Kii, specifically at a cemetery in Koyasan, northeast of the Kongobuji Temple. You'll find him strolling with his ronin escorts, but there's no need to engage them. Approach Kumabe Ujiie and select the “I seek guidance” dialogue option. Follow him, and he will eventually reveal Kimura Kei's location.

How and Where to Assassinate Kimura Kei

Kimura Kei’s Training Grounds are located in the southwest portion of Kii, just north of the shore, roughly halfway between Sazae Oni Shores and Nakahechi Route. Upon arrival, follow the other students to Kimura Kei. Once he recognizes Yasuke, he will order his students to attack.

You'll be surrounded by ronin attackers, and more will come as you advance towards Kimura Kei. Equip your highest-level armor and weapons to withstand the onslaught. Exploiting the environment, such as shooting the strategically placed red explosive barrels with your bow or teppo, can help manage large groups of enemies.

The confrontation with Kimura Kei triggers a multi-phase boss fight, ruling out stealth assassination. Equip an armor engraving that allows you to parry unblockable attacks, as Kimura Kei frequently employs them. In the first phase, he primarily uses a standard Katana. Parry his attacks to create openings for posture attacks and abilities, which will wear down his armor.

As his armor nears breaking, the second phase begins with him wielding both a Long Katana and a standard Katana. Expect more unblockable attacks, requiring you to focus on dodging while seizing opportunities to strike.

When Kimura Kei's health is reduced to about half, the fight shifts outdoors. Here, he unleashes high-damage unblockable attacks with both Katanas. Frequent dodging and maintaining distance are crucial. Utilize your bow or teppo for effective ranged attacks.

Every Reward for Killing Kimura Kei in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Defeating Kimura Kei grants you 3,000 XP, some Mon, and the Templar-themed Destroyer Samurai Armor and Helmet. The armor features an engraving that reduces the impact of enemy attacks, while the helmet boosts Yasuke’s damage by 10% for every 10% of his health missing.

How to Find the Silver Queen in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Once the Shinbakufu are defeated, the Silver Queen, who is aiding the Portuguese in pillaging Tamba, becomes your next target on the Templar Board. Similar to Kimura Kei, you'll need to speak with several contacts before reaching her, starting with a spy.

Where to Find and Talk to The Spy

The spy Yasuke needs to consult is located in Southeast Tamba within the Silver Lands. Enter the investigation area to find him sitting on a rug under a small structure near a wooden cart and crates. He will provide you with the Silver Queen's whereabouts.

Where to Meet the Silver Queen

Head to the town of Tada, just northeast of the Tada Kakurega, to find the Silver Queen. She'll be conversing with Portuguese soldiers. Approach and engage her in conversation, then follow her to her house for tea. Be warned, as you will wake up in the Tada Silver Mine after being drugged.

How to Escape from Tada Silver Mine

Upon waking up in a locked room within Tada Silver Mine, sprint into the door to break it open. After dispatching the guards, choose between fighting or sneaking your way out. Sneaking is the most efficient and time-saving method. Head southwest out of the mine, eliminating any enemies in your path, and make your escape.

How to Locate Akechi Mitsuyoshi

The Silver Queen requires Yasuke to rescue her brother, Akechi Mitsuyoshi, in exchange for information on Yasuke’s ultimate target. After escaping Tada Silver Mine, head north towards Kameyama Castle. If you need to restock on Ammo or Rations, there’s a Kakurega just north of Senneji Temple in Kameyama.

Activate Pathfinder to navigate through Kameyama Castle, eliminating any guards in your way. Inside the living quarters, you’ll find a bleeding servant who will give you a key to the castle’s Tenshu.

How to Free Akechi Mitsuyoshi and Retrieve His Katana

With the key to the Tenshu in hand, enter the main castle building beneath the Viewpoint and unlock the door where Akechi Mitsuyoshi is imprisoned. Follow him as he escapes, using your bow or teppo to take out distant threats. Once he's free, return to the castle to retrieve his Katana from Baltazar, who is surrounded by soldiers. Take out the soldiers first for a one-on-one fight with Baltazar. Employ abilities and posture attacks to break his guard and inflict vulnerable damage quickly.

After defeating Baltazar and reclaiming Akechi Mitsuyoshi’s Katana, head north to Atago Shrine. There, talk to Akechi Mitsuyoshi and follow him to the Shrine to learn the location of your next target.

How to Find and Assassinate Nuno Caro

Your final target, Nuno Caro, is preparing to leave Japan and can be found at Takeda Castle in Western Tamba. The castle is perched high atop a mountain at the end of a winding road. Use Pathfinder to find the most direct route.

Takeda Castle is heavily guarded with numerous enemies and alarm bells. Since stealth isn't viable for Yasuke, disable all alarm bells with your bow or teppo. As you ascend, you’ll reach a set of double doors that initiate the encounter with Nuno Caro.

Eliminate Nuno Caro’s men as you climb the castle in pursuit. At the top, you'll face Nuno Caro in a boss fight. He fights similarly to his soldiers, using a sword and a pistol. His sword combo can consist of up to four swipes, which you can block or parry. Watch for his pistol's red glow, signaling an imminent shot, and dodge accordingly. Use Abilities to deal high damage and create vulnerabilities, then strike until he is defeated. With Nuno Caro's death, the Templar Hunt Objective Board will be completed.
