Fan Voting for 20th Anniversary Merchandise Open Until March 21, 2025

Like a Dragon will celebrate two decades since its debut this December 2025. To begin the festivities, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio launched a special fan-voting initiative, allowing the community to select their favorite in-game items to be transformed into real-life merchandise.

A selection of 100 items is available for voting, featuring lingerie, incense, mahjong tiles, a karaoke microphone, a premium lighter, commemorative 20th-anniversary sake, character-themed pillows, Kiryu’s iconic dragon mask, and other memorabilia honoring the series’ legacy. The studio confirms on the official voting site that the most popular choice will “definitely” be developed into a product within two years.

Voting opened on February 8, 2025, and will continue through March 21, 2025. Participants may cast one vote per day. Once voting concludes, a follow-up survey will be launched to determine the final design of the winning item.

Possible Yakuza Remakes Could Be Announced for 20th Anniversary

The studio first outlined its 20th-anniversary plans in a social media post on December 8, 2024, during the franchise’s 19th anniversary. In a commemorative video, Director and Executive Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama shared his appreciation for the fans' enduring support.

Kicking off the milestone year, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio will launch Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on February 20, 2025. Yokoyama also mentioned that a variety of events and announcements are planned throughout the year—including the ongoing merchandise voting campaign.

Aside from the voting program, no further announcements regarding anniversary events or new game releases have been made. Looking back, the series’ 10th anniversary saw the studio announce remakes of earlier titles, which eventually led to Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami. With that precedent, the community is hopeful for another major reveal.

Recommended Specs Are Modest for Modern Gaming Rigs

On February 10, 2025, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio revealed the official PC requirements for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. The recommended GPU is an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or an equivalent—or newer—model, making the game accessible for a wide range of systems.

Given that the game is also launching on last-generation consoles such as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the PC specifications are generally easy to meet. Additionally, the studio confirmed that the game is Steam Deck verified.

SEGA recently released a story trailer on YouTube, showcasing Majima’s high-seas adventure as narrated by the Pirate King Raymond Law—voiced and portrayed by wrestling star Samoa Joe.
