Fans eagerly awaiting Dune: Awakening, the upcoming open-world survival MMO inspired by Frank Herbert's iconic sci-fi novels and Denis Villeneuve's cinematic adaptations, will need to mark their calendars for a new release date: June 10, 2025. Developer Funcom recently announced this delay, but there's a silver lining for those eager to dive into the sands of Arrakis sooner. By purchasing either the Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition, players can get a head start and begin their adventure on June 5.

Funcom cited feedback from their ongoing Persistent Closed Beta as the reason behind the delay, explaining that the extra time will allow them to "cook" the game further. This additional period will also enable the implementation of changes suggested during the beta phase. To keep the community engaged, Funcom has planned a large-scale beta weekend next month, providing even more players the chance to experience the game and contribute valuable feedback.

While the delay might be disappointing for some, Funcom is hosting a combat livestream today at 12pm ET/9am PT. This event will delve deeper into the game's PvP and PvE mechanics, archetypes, and skills, offering fans a closer look at what to expect.
