Dynabytes' Fantasma: A New AR Multiplayer GPS Adventure
Fantasma, a multiplayer augmented reality (AR) GPS adventure game from Dynabytes, recently emerged from under the radar, making its debut at Gamescom Latam. This exciting title tasks players with hunting and battling paranormal creatures using portable electromagnetic fields as bait.
A recent update expanded Fantasma's reach with the addition of Japanese, Korean, Malay, and Portuguese language support. Further localization efforts are underway, with German, Italian, and Spanish planned for release in the coming months.
Gameplay involves tracking and battling Fantasma creatures in your real-world environment using your phone's AR capabilities. Players must skillfully aim and shoot virtual projectiles at the creatures to deplete their health and subsequently capture them in special bottles. The location-based nature of the game encourages exploration, as Fantasma appearances are tied to real-world coordinates. Deployable sensors extend the detection range, allowing players to attract creatures from greater distances. A social element is also present, enabling cooperative gameplay with other players.
