The upcoming mobile version of Final Fantasy XIV is generating significant excitement. This acclaimed MMORPG famously rebounded from a troubled launch to become a massive success, making its mobile adaptation one of the most anticipated releases. A new listing on the Chinese iOS App Store now suggests a potential launch as early as August 29th.

Final Fantasy XIV first launched in 2010 to overwhelmingly negative reviews. The reception was so poor that Square Enix took the game offline and tasked the development team with a complete, ground-up overhaul. The result was the highly praised Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
