Marvel Rivals: A Guide to Free Units

While Marvel Rivals is free-to-play, it features microtransactions and multiple currencies for cosmetic purchases. This guide details how to acquire Units without spending real money.

What are Units?

Units are the in-game currency used to buy character cosmetics like skins and sprays. Browse the Shop tab in the main menu to view available items. Cosmetics are purely aesthetic and don't affect gameplay; heroes and their abilities remain accessible regardless of purchases.

How to Obtain Units

There are two primary methods for earning Units: the Battle Pass and completing missions.

Battle Pass:

Both the free and premium (Luxury) Battle Pass tracks offer Units. Progressing through matches unlocks Battle Pass tiers, granting Units as rewards. Some tiers also provide Lattice, which can be exchanged for additional Units.

Missions:

Season-specific missions are a significant source of Units. These one-time missions provide a substantial number of Units, along with other in-game currencies like Chrono Tokens and Lattice. Daily and weekly missions, however, do not typically reward Units. Focus on completing the seasonal missions for optimal Unit acquisition.
