The boom continues for Warhammer 40,000 creator Games Workshop, as the company announces a generous £20 million (approximately $27 million) employee bonus payout.

The Nottingham-based company behind the iconic Warhammer tabletop games reported impressive financial results for the 52 weeks ending June 1, 2025. Core revenue reached £560 million (up from £494.7 million), while licensing revenue surged to £50 million from £31 million. Core profits rose to £210 million (previously £174.8 million) with licensing profits at £45 million (up from £27 million), resulting in total pre-tax profits of £255 million compared to last year's £203 million.

In recognition of staff contributions to these record results, Games Workshop is distributing £20 million in bonuses - an increase from last year's £18 million payout. The sum will be equally divided among all employees. With an estimated workforce of 1,500, this translates to approximately £13,333 (around $18,000) per staff member.

While best known for its miniatures business where fans assemble and paint models for tabletop wargaming, Games Workshop has increasingly become an intellectual property powerhouse. Recent successes include last year's Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 video game, Amazon's Warhammer 40,000 Secret Level animation, and the finalized deal with Henry Cavill to develop a Warhammer 40,000 cinematic universe featuring films and TV series. Space Marine 3 is currently in development.

The company noted licensing revenue achieved record levels this period, though it doesn't anticipate matching these figures in 2025/26. Nevertheless, licensing remains a strategic priority. Warhammer's popularity continues to soar, with no signs of slowing down based on current performance.

During its recent Warhammer Skulls showcase event, the company revealed several exciting announcements including a Definitive Edition of Dawn of War and a new Siege mode for Space Marine 2.
