Set in the aftermath of 1984's Secret Wars, the story finds Spider-Man still adjusting to the symbiote suit. This classic Toho Godzilla encounter will test his newfound abilities to their limits as he defends his city from an unprecedented threat.
Joe Kelly, the writer behind Marvel's upcoming Amazing Spider-Man relaunch, pens this explosive tale. Nick Bradshaw (known for his work on Wolverine and the X-Men) provides the art, with additional cover art contributions from Lee Garbett and Greg Land.
"The moment I heard about an '80s-set Godzilla/Spidey crossover, I jumped at the chance," Kelly shared with IGN. "This comic is pure fun, showcasing two iconic characters amidst the chaotic energy of that era. Nick Bradshaw perfectly captures the absurdity while giving Godzilla and Spidey (in his, shall we say, unique black suit) the gravitas they deserve. It's a love letter with an earth-shattering roar!"
This follows the previously released Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four #1 and Godzilla vs. Hulk #1, and joins other recent crossovers like DC's Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong. Unlike the DC series, which features the MonsterVerse versions, this Marvel series focuses on the classic Toho Godzilla.
