Gran Turismo and Forza's main competitor Assetto Corsa EVO is released today
Get ready, racing fans! Assetto Corsa EVO, from Kunos Simulazioni Studios, hits Steam Early Access on January 16, 2025.
Initial release boasts 20 meticulously detailed cars and 5 iconic tracks: Imola, Brands Hatch, Bathurst, Laguna Seca, and Suzuka. Despite being in early access, expect highly realistic physics, handling, and car behavior.
A standout feature is the free-roam mode. A major summer 2025 update promises a massive, laser-scanned open world encompassing the Nürburgring and its surrounding roads – a staggering 1600 square kilometers, expanding over time.
Assetto Corsa EVO aims to rival industry leaders like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport, boasting photorealistic visuals and cutting-edge physics.
The full launch will eventually include 100 vehicles and 15 tracks, with more added via free updates. Expect accurate track conditions, from tire wear to wet surfaces, and lively, animated spectators for an immersive experience.
Enhanced car dynamics, suspension, and shock absorption are key improvements. Early Access players can hone their skills in Driving Academy mode, tackling timed challenges on available tracks to earn a license unlocking top-tier vehicles. This mode will be a core single-player component of the Early Access release.
