Grand Theft Auto 6 remains slated for a fall 2025 launch, according to parent company Take-Two Interactive.

In its Q3 2024 earnings report covering the period ending December 31, Take-Two confirmed GTA 6's planned release window for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms. This indicates the highly anticipated title hasn't faced any delays from its originally announced timeline.

During a pre-earnings briefing with IGN, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged potential delays while expressing confidence: "While unexpected setbacks can always occur, we're feeling very positive about our fall 2025 target."

Zelnick cautioned against absolute guarantees when pressed about Rockstar hitting the 2025 timeframe: "Calling anything absolutely certain tends to tempt fate. That said, we're extremely optimistic about our current trajectory."

The CEO remained tight-lipped when asked for development updates on GTA 6.

"The anticipation surrounding this title, both within our studios and among fans worldwide, is unprecedented," Zelnick noted. "Rockstar's commitment to excellence is well documented. While we never count successes prematurely, the entire team is deeply motivated by both excitement and healthy competitive pressure."

The GTA 6 release has become entertainment's most closely watched event, with rival publishers carefully timing their own launches around Rockstar's move. EA CEO Andrew Wilson recently hinted at possible Battlefield scheduling adjustments based on competitor releases, widely interpreted as GTA 6 positioning strategy.

While the release window holds firm, fans continue waiting for GTA 6's second trailer - now overdue by over a year since the debut preview.
