Becoming a Hollow in the Hollow Era

Your journey begins as a Soul Spirit, a deceased entity with a crucial choice to make: become a Shinigami or a Hollow. Opting for the latter requires breaking all the links on your chain, a process that happens automatically every two minutes. This means you'll transform into a Hollow within minutes, even if you do nothing.

Warning: Before embarking on your Hollow Era journey as a Hollow, consider that their path can be less engaging than that of Shinigami. While Hollows have a cooler aesthetic, the progression involves extensive grinding and repetitive kills. Reaching the pinnacle as Vasto Lorde or Espada demands significant time and effort.

Hollow Progression in the Hollow Era

To evolve into a Gillian, you'll need to engage in relentless grinding, killing other Hollows and consuming their parts. You can transform at level 15, but at level 10, you gain access to a Garganta gateway leading to Hueco Mundo, where Hollow hunting becomes more efficient.

Gillian Form in the Hollow Era

As a Gillian, your primary task is to continue eliminating Hollows and interact with Hollow Pillars in Hueco Mundo. Collecting enough Progression Points will teleport you to your inner world, where you must defeat five tougher-than-average Hollows three times to evolve into an Adjucha.

Adjucha Form in the Hollow Era

The Adjucha stage offers a choice between progressing as a Vasto Lorde or Arrancar. Let's start with Arrancar.

Arrancar Progression

To become an Arrancar, interact with a Crystal Bush in Hueco Mundo, which appears every 30 to 60 minutes (on average, every 45 minutes). This interaction transforms you into an Arrancar, granting you access to Hueco Mundo via a keybind. Here's a list of all Arrancar Ressurections in Hollow Era.

At level 50, you can pursue your Resurrección, though Arrancars currently rely on Kendo skills, with hopes for more skills in future updates.

Vasto Lorde Progression

Choosing the Vasto Lorde path requires continued elimination and consumption of Hollows for Progression Points. Be cautious; dying during this process results in a 1% loss of these points.

Many Hollow Era players remain stuck at the Adjucha stage due to the grind. To reach Vasto Lorde, you need 800 Progression Points, earned through kills as follows:

• Hollow: 1 Point
• Gillian: 6 Points
• Adjucha: 4 Points
• Vasto Lorde: 8 Points
• Arrancar: 8 Points
• Espada: 10 Points

Vasto Lorde form in the Hollow Era

Evolving into a Vasto Lorde is more challenging than becoming an Arrancar. You need 800 race Progression Points and all Hollow Items, which have random drop chances. Below is a list of Hollow Items by the creatures that drop them:

• Hollows: Back Fins (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 HP regeneration), Fin Tail (Legendary, 1% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu regeneration and +1 Speed)
• Gillian: Back Spikes (Rare, 10% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu)
• Adjucha: Tail (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 Speed), Single Horn (Uncommon, 25% drop chance, +1 Strength), Double Horn (Rare, 10% drop chance, +2 Strength), Triple Horn (Epic, 5%, +3 Strength)
• Vasto Lorde: Spiral Horn (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu)

Becoming Espada in the Hollow Era

If you're on the Vasto Lorde path, your next step is to evolve into an Espada. The process mirrors becoming an Arrancar: find a Crystal Bush in Hueco Mundo and interact with it.

To spot a Crystal Bush more easily, disable Atmosphere, Bloom, and Depth of Field in your options, then climb to a high vantage point and scan the area.

How to Get Your Resurrección

As an Arrancar or Espada, your ultimate goal is to obtain your Resurrección. Reach level 50, then visit Hueco Mundo and speak with Isen, the King of Hueco Mundo.

Isen assigns you the task of defeating 50 Arrancars. Upon completion, you can activate your Resurrección when your Rage Bar is full and pulsating. Fill the Rage Bar by dealing or receiving damage. The default keybind for Resurrección is “Y”, and it deactivates when you run out of Reiatsu or Rage.

Hollow Era Tips and Tricks

Playing as a Hollow may seem cooler, but it's less versatile than evolving as a Shinigami. Prepare for extensive grinding and be aware that as a Hollow, you'll be targeted by both Hollows and Shinigami. If combat gets disorienting, use the lockup button to focus on your primary target. This is crucial in buggy or laggy situations, especially when you're pinned by large Hollows and can't move or take damage, yet the screen spins around your stuck character.

Learn how to block enemy attacks quickly. Even low-level enemies can deal significant damage, and your health doesn't regenerate fast enough. Death means losing a bit of money, and the trek back to your quest targets can be tedious. Consider investing in the bus teleport if you can afford it; it's a worthwhile convenience.

When collecting Skill Points, prioritize Strength and Speed regardless of your race. While Sword, Vitality, and Reiatsu are tempting, initial focus on damage output and movement speed is crucial. When in doubt, press and hold J (default keybind) to reveal markers around Karakura using your Reiatsu sense.
