Reclaiming Your Horse
It's possible to regain your starting horse, Pebbles. Visit the horse trader in Semine (south). However, retrieving Pebbles requires either paying Groschen, persuading, or intimidating the trader. During my playthrough, adopting a noble appearance (through new clothing obtained via the Radovan questline) allowed me to convince the trader to relinquish Pebbles without payment, albeit at a slight reputational cost in Semine. If persuasion fails, you'll need to pay.
Stealing a Horse
Alternatively, you can steal a horse. Wild horses are rare; instead, target farms or stables. This carries the risk of being caught.
A good location is the farmhouse near Vidlak Pond (west). Fishermen here own two horses. Simply mount one and ride away.
Next, visit the Nomads' Camp (east of Vidlak Pond). The horse trainer there can saddle and tame your stolen horse for a fee. Alternatively, you can ride the unsaddled horse.
