Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con Leak: A Closer Look

Recent online leaks offer the clearest images yet of the Nintendo Switch 2's Joy-Con controllers, seemingly confirming design details and features. While the Nintendo Switch continues to see game releases into 2025, speculation about its successor is intensifying, especially with Nintendo's confirmed announcement before the end of their 2024 fiscal year. Rumors regarding the Switch 2's March 2025 launch date and specifications are rampant, fueled by third-party developers and insider accounts.

Leaked images, originating from a Chinese social media platform and shared on Reddit's r/NintendoSwitch2 subreddit by user SwordfishAgile3472, provide a detailed view of the left Joy-Con's back and side. These images corroborate previous rumors of magnetic connections, replacing the traditional rail system. The images showcase a primarily black Joy-Con with blue accents, mirroring the original Switch's color scheme but with a different distribution of colors.

Joy-Con Design Details:

The leaked photos reveal a revised button layout, featuring noticeably larger "SL" and "SR" buttons, and a third, unlabeled button on the back. This additional button is hypothesized to be a release mechanism for the magnetic Joy-Con connection. The overall design aligns with other circulating Switch 2 leaks and mockups.

While these leaks offer compelling visual evidence, official confirmation from Nintendo is still awaited. Until then, the speculation surrounding the Switch 2's features and design will continue to fuel excitement among gamers.
