How to Romance a Character in Fields of Mistria

While you can forge friendships with almost everyone in *Fields of Mistria*, romance is a more exclusive affair. With the v0.13.0 update, you have the opportunity to romance one of 11 NPCs, including the enigmatic Caldarus himself.
Each romanceable NPC has a heart meter that reflects your relationship. To spark a romance, engage frequently and attentively with your chosen NPC, taking note of what they like and dislike. Start by **talking to them daily** as you go about your tasks in town. Consistent conversation can significantly strengthen your bond. Also, make sure to complete any requests they post on the town board, as this will offer more chances to boost their heart gauge.
Gifting is another key element. You can give **one gift per day**, ideally something they love or like. These items vary per character and can be either gathered or crafted. On their birthday, giving them a beloved item can significantly increase their heart gauge.
Currently, NPC heart gauges can reach up to **six hearts**. At this level, a cutscene hints at budding feelings, but it's not yet a full romance. According to the game's roadmap, future updates will introduce 8 and 10-heart events, along with options for marriage and children, ensuring your romance in Mistria has room to flourish.

Juniper, one of the romanceable characters, can often be found at her bathhouse in the northeastern part of town or searching for unusual witchcraft ingredients. To romance her, make regular visits, fulfill her town board requests, and bring her thoughtful gifts.
Juniper has specific items she "likes" and "loves". Her birthday falls on the **26th day of Fall**, making it the perfect time to give her a cherished item for an extra boost to her heart gauge. However, avoid gifting her universal dislikes or **Sod**, as these will not help your cause.
