However, a source close to Kennedy told Variety that Puck's report is "pure speculation." Despite this, The Hollywood Reporter has corroborated Puck's story.

Kennedy joined Lucasfilm in 2012 as a co-chair, handpicked by George Lucas himself to run the studio. After Lucas's departure, Kennedy was promoted to president and has since managed the Star Wars franchise. Her tenure has seen the release of a new sequel trilogy, including Star Wars Episodes 7-9, and the launch of the Star Wars streaming era with series such as The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Andor, Ahsoka, Skeleton Key, and others.
