Krysten Ritter Returns as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2
Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+. The announcement was made during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, as reported by Variety. This news comes after months of speculation and rumors about the potential return of the Netflix Defenders to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Ritter appeared alongside Charlie Cox, who plays Daredevil, to share her enthusiasm about returning to the character. "It's so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter stated. "I'm so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

Ritter first brought Jessica Jones to life in 2015 with the premiere of the first season on Netflix. Following two more seasons and the team-up series The Defenders, the future of the character seemed uncertain as Netflix's deal with Marvel came to an end. However, in 2021, Disney regained the rights to these characters, opening the door for their integration into the MCU.
The return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his own Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again fueled speculation about the reintroduction of other Netflix heroes. With Jon Bernthal's Punisher playing a significant role in the first season of Daredevil: Born Again, it's fitting to see Ritter return as Jessica Jones for the second season.
Ritter's last portrayal of Jessica Jones was in the third season, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at more adventures for the character within the MCU. While a release date for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has not been announced, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that fans can expect new episodes in March 2026.
