The much-anticipated single-player action game, Lost Soul Aside, has been delayed by three months, shifting its release from May 30 to August 29, 2025, as announced by its developer, Ultizero Games. Initially set to launch next month after nearly a decade in development, the game's release has been pushed back to late August to allow for additional polishing.

"We are truly grateful for the positive response we've received from players all over the world since we announced Lost Soul Aside," Ultizero Games stated. "We remain committed to delivering a high-quality game experience. To match the standards Ultizero Games have set for ourselves, we are going to take some additional time to polish the game. Lost Soul Aside will now release on August 29, 2025. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our fans waiting for the launch."

Originally the passion project of solo developer Yang Bing, Lost Soul Aside has evolved significantly. It's now a major Sony-published title under the company's China Hero Project, with Bing as the founder and CEO of the Shanghai-based studio, Ultizero Games.

In a recent interview with IGN, Yang Bing discussed the extensive journey to launch. From a solo creator's vision to a notable reveal at Sony's State of Play broadcast, the game has garnered considerable excitement. Some have described Lost Soul Aside as an intriguing blend of Final Fantasy characters and Devil May Cry combat, a sentiment sparked by Bing's initial reveal video that went viral in 2016.

The protagonist, Kesar, wields a versatile shape-shifting weapon that can be swapped to alter playstyle. Additionally, Kesar is accompanied by a dragon-like companion named Arena, who can summon abilities to aid in combat.

Drawing inspiration from its predecessors, Lost Soul Aside emphasizes aerial dodging, precision timing, combos, and countering, alongside epic boss battles. The game's sci-fi premise is complemented by a mix of contemporary aesthetics, guiding players through a multi-dimensional campaign. Although the trailers don't fully reveal the storyline, Bing describes Kesar's journey as one of "redemption and discovery."
