No Man's Sky's Solanium: Gathering, Farming, and Crafting

Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusively found on planets with extreme heat. This guide details how to acquire it through gathering, farming, or crafting.

Locating Solanium

Unlike Frost Crystals, Solanium thrives on arid and scorching planets. Before landing, use your starship scanner to identify planets with a hot, dry climate (e.g., Arid, Incandescent, Boiling, Scorched). The scanner will indicate Solanium as a resource if present.

Once landed, employ your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines—tall, rock-like structures with luminous vines. These are abundant in specific areas. Remember, you'll need a Haz-Mat Gauntlet to harvest them. While there, collect Phosphorus deposits if available; they're essential for Solanium crafting.

Farming Solanium

After completing the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can cultivate Solar Vines at your base. Use a Hydroponic Tray or Bio-Dome, planting them with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. On hot planets, direct ground planting is possible. Harvesting takes roughly 16 real-time hours.

Crafting Solanium

Several Refiner recipes produce Solanium, primarily using Phosphorus from hot planets (or purchased from traders/Galactic Trade Terminals). These recipes include:

• Solanium + Phosphorus (for increased Solanium yield)
• Phosphorus + Oxygen
• Phosphorus + Sulphurine
• Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine

Note: All Solanium crafting recipes, including those using Sulphurine, necessitate a visit to a hot planet. Establishing a Phosphorus farm at your base ensures a consistent Sulphurine supply.
