Marvel Rivals, the acclaimed hero shooter, is enjoying immense popularity on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. However, developer NetEase has consistently ruled out a Nintendo Switch release, leaving Switch players unable to participate. But what about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2?

This question was recently posed to Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas. The response offers hope for Switch 2 fans: a port is a definite possibility.

Wu stated, "We're already in contact with Nintendo and working on some development kits. Whenever we can ensure great performance on the Switch 2, we're open to releasing the game. The original Switch's limitations prevented us from delivering a satisfactory experience. If the Switch 2 can meet that requirement, we're definitely interested."

The Nintendo Switch 2 was officially unveiled last month. While specifics regarding its capabilities are still scarce, it's expected to be a more powerful and enhanced system. Interestingly, it seems the console will incorporate mouse-like control functionality, potentially offering a more PC-like shooter experience for games like Marvel Rivals. However, the precise implementation remains to be seen.

The Nintendo Switch 2 lacks a confirmed release date, though a Nintendo Direct is scheduled for April 2nd. Marvel Rivals is currently available on other platforms, and has received positive critical reception.
