New Heroes Every Month

In their commitment to maintain the thrill of the game's launch, NetEase has decided to accelerate the addition of new heroes to Marvel Rivals. Originally, the game was set to introduce two new heroes per season, but starting from Season 3, players can expect a new hero every month. This exciting news was shared by Marvel Rivals' Creative Director Guangguang and Lead Combat Designer Zhiyong during the Dev Vision Vol. 05 on April 4, alongside plans to adjust the structure of upcoming seasons.

To keep the game's momentum, each season will now last two months instead of three. Guangguang elaborated, "After extensive internal discussions and thorough evaluation, we’ve decided that starting from Season 3, the seasons will shift to a two-month format, with a new hero debuting each month."

Guangguang acknowledged the community's feedback on social media, stating, "During this time, several discussions on social media have certainly added some pressure on us to keep the game as exciting as it has been since December." The team is also considering adding new game modes to enhance the experience, potentially rolling out up to 12 new heroes annually.

Balancing these new additions presents a challenge, but Guangguang assured fans that the team is prepared. In a previous interview with PC Gamer on March 14, he highlighted the importance of analyzing key metric data across all game modes, including pick rates, win rates, stats, and abilities, stating, "This data serves as the foundation for our balancing efforts."

Season 2 Details and Future Plans

The Dev Vision also provided a glimpse into Season 2, dubbed Hellfire Gala, where Marvel Heroes receive an invitation from the upcoming hero Emma Frost to explore the Mutant haven of the Living Island Krakoa. Emma Frost, an X-Men villain known for her telepathic abilities and diamond transformation, will serve as a Vanguard in the game.

The Hellfire Gala promises a grand celebration, with the season's trailer showcasing new skins for heroes like Luna Snow, Magneto, Cloak and Dagger, and Black Panther, all dressed in elegant and formal attire. The event draws inspiration from Marvel’s Hellfire Club, a society of the wealthy and elite who manipulate global affairs.

Following Emma Frost's debut, Season 2.5 will introduce Ultron, a notorious Marvel villain. The Hellfire Gala trailer teases a dramatic interruption by Ultron's robots, signaling the start of the Age of Ultron. Details about Ultron's role remain sparse at this time.

Thor’s Lord of Asgard and Hawkeye’s Ronin Skins Available Now!

Marvel Rivals took to Twitter (X) on April 4 to announce the immediate availability of new skins for Thor and Hawkeye. Thor’s Lord of Asgard skin reflects his comic book revival by Odin, while Hawkeye’s Ronin skin captures his vigilante samurai persona from the comics.

Thor’s Rune King bundle offers the Rune King costume, spray, nameplate, The Omniscient MVP, and Well of Mimir emote. Meanwhile, the Hawkeye Ronin bundle includes the Ronin skin, spray, nameplate, Deadly Rain MVP, and Hone to Perfection emote.
