Stun the Monster

Ebony Odogaron's speed is its most daunting feature, often leaving players struggling to keep up. A key strategy to handle this is by stunning it. Look for a nearby Flashfly to trigger, which can temporarily halt the monster's movements. Alternatively, consider crafting Flash Pods to shoot at Ebony Odogaron, providing you with a crucial moment to attack or reposition safely.

Bring Teammates

Facing Ebony Odogaron solo can be overwhelming, with much of your time spent dodging its relentless attacks. To make the fight more manageable, bring teammates into the fray. Use SOS signals to call for backup; if no players respond, NPCs can serve as effective distractions. They can act as shields, allowing you to focus on dodging until the monster shifts its attention away from you.

Pull Down Entangled Rocks

During the battle, you'll encounter an area with Entangled Rocks hanging above. Use your slinger to bring them down, stunning the boss for a few precious seconds. This can only be done once per fight, so use it wisely. Additionally, you can craft Pitfall and Shock Traps to immobilize Ebony Odogaron two more times, further controlling the battle's pace.

Beware of Dragonblight

Apart from its physical assaults, Ebony Odogaron can inflict Dragonblight, which, while not causing direct damage, will hinder your ability to apply elemental or status effects. To counteract this, carry Nulberries to cleanse the blight or equip decorations with Level 3 Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance to mitigate its impact.

Inflict Paralysis

Using Paralysis on Ebony Odogaron is highly recommended. This status effect will immobilize the monster for a short duration, simplifying the fight significantly. If you can knock it down over roots, it might become entangled, granting you additional time to inflict damage.

Aim for the Head

The head is Ebony Odogaron's most vulnerable spot, boasting a 3-star weakness. Targeting it will maximize your damage output, though it places you directly in the monster's line of sight. If you prefer a safer approach, aim for its forelegs or tail. While these areas won't yield as much damage, they offer a chance to break its limbs, further weakening the beast.

Capturing Ebony Odogaron requires strategic timing. Deploy a Pitfall or Shock Trap when the monster's health is reduced to 20 percent or less. This ensures the tranquilizer will effectively put it to sleep. If you attempt to capture it too early, the monster will break free, forcing you to continue the fight.
