Millennium PC: A Comprehensive Review
When you're in the market for a gaming PC, you have several options at your disposal. You can opt for a mass-produced prebuilt system from well-known brands like Alienware, or splurge on a high-end boutique build. The Origin Millennium sits comfortably between these two extremes. It's a high-end gaming system, no doubt, but it doesn't feature the flamboyant design aesthetics you might find in offerings from Maingear or Falcon Northwest. Instead, the Origin Millennium is a robust, custom-ordered gaming rig that uses standard components, offering the convenience of a prebuilt system without the hassle of assembling it yourself. Just be prepared to possibly lug a hefty wooden crate to your home, as I had to.
Purchasing Guide
The starting price for the Origin Millennium is $2,788, but this base model comes with an Intel Core i5-14600K and no dedicated graphics card, making it less than ideal for the price. However, you can customize the system to your heart's content on Origin's website, choosing from a wide array of components. Keep in mind, the more powerful the system, the higher the cost will climb.

Design and Features
The Origin Millennium is a sizable machine, housed in a full-tower ATX case that's made even more imposing by steel bars on all four corners. The case alone weighs 33 pounds, and that's before adding heavy components like the MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio, a robust power supply, and a 360mm AIO. The wooden crate it's shipped in added to the challenge of getting it up to my third-floor apartment.
Those corner metal bars, while adding to the system's rugged aesthetic, complicate access to the internals. While the configuration I received for review won't need upgrades for a few years, regular maintenance is still necessary. Removing the glass side panel is hindered by the back left metal bar, causing some difficulty and a bit of concern when I first opened it.
The metal bars can be removed with allen bolts, but it's an extra step that shouldn't be necessary for a gaming PC of this caliber. Once inside, however, the spacious build is impressive. Even with a 14-inch graphics card, there's ample room for excellent airflow. Origin's cable management is top-notch, with all cables neatly routed behind the motherboard tray through dedicated grommets.
An interesting choice in their cable management is the routing of the front panel and fan power cables underneath the system. While this hides the wires effectively, it results in a bundle of cables outside the case, which could potentially snag on something and cause issues.
Customization options include choosing where to mount the front ports and power button—either on the top or bottom of the case. My review unit had them on the bottom, ideal for a desk setup, but having the option for top mounting is great for those who might place the PC on the floor or in a living room.
The front panel features four USB-A and one USB-C port, with even more ports available at the back. The Asus ROG Crosshair X870E Hero motherboard in my test unit offers four USB-C ports, six USB-A ports, two Ethernet ports, and an HDMI port for onboard graphics. The RTX 5090 adds three DisplayPort and one HDMI port, standard for Blackwell GPUs.
All in the Configuration
The configuration I tested might be overkill for most users, but Origin PC allows you to tailor the system to your needs. The reviewed setup, priced at $7,241, is a beast that will last for years, but you don't have to go that route.
A more balanced configuration might include an AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, 32GB of RAM, and an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT, suitable for 4K gaming at a more reasonable $3,392. While still pricey, it's a solid mid-range option. Building this setup yourself would cost around $2,397, meaning you're essentially paying a thousand dollars for Origin's assembly service.
For the high-end configuration I reviewed, building it yourself would cost about $6,506 on PCPartPicker. The premium you pay for Origin to build the system includes more than just assembly; you get a one-year warranty and lifetime support, allowing you to reach out for any future issues or even send the system back for free upgrades (parts cost not included).
The unique wooden crate, while cumbersome, provides unparalleled protection during shipping. Whether the extra cost is justified depends on your comfort level with building and maintaining a PC and the value you place on the additional services Origin offers.
Performance
The Origin Millennium I tested, equipped with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090, an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and 64GB of RAM, is a powerhouse. At 4K resolution, it consistently delivered triple-digit frame rates without frame generation, with only two exceptions: Assassin's Creed Shadows at 75 fps and Metro Exodus at 97 fps. The latter is understandable given its demanding ray tracing without upscaling.
For Assassin's Creed Shadows, the 75 fps baseline is more than playable, and enabling frame generation can push it to 132 fps, albeit with increased latency from 33ms to 42ms. This latency increase might not be noticeable to most, especially in a single-player game.
Cyberpunk 2077 on the Ray Tracing Ultra preset with DLSS in performance mode hit 127 fps with 23ms latency without frame generation. With Multi-Frame Generation at 4x, the frame rate soared to 373 fps, with latency only rising to 28ms. This is higher than what most monitors can handle.
Even without frame generation, the Origin Millennium's performance is exceptional, ensuring you can enjoy top-tier games at the highest settings without compromising on image quality.
