"Monster Hunter Wilds: Capcom's Fastest Selling Game with 8 Million Copies in 3 Days"

Monster Hunter Wilds has taken the gaming world by storm, selling an impressive 8 million units within just three days of its release. This remarkable achievement makes it Capcom's fastest-selling game to date, despite the presence of some bugs. Let's dive into Capcom's monumental success and the latest updates for Monster Hunter Wilds.
Monster Hunter Wilds Surpassed 8 Million Units in 3 Days
Monster Hunter Wilds Is Now Capcom’s Fastest Selling Game
Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds) has set a new record for Capcom, becoming the company's fastest-selling game by reaching over 8 million units sold in just three days. Capcom proudly announced this milestone on their official website, highlighting MH Wilds' unprecedented success. According to SteamDB, the game achieved over 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam shortly after launch, despite receiving mixed reviews. Capcom credits this achievement to their extensive promotional efforts, including participation in global gaming events and an open beta test that allowed players to experience the game firsthand.
Latest Update Addressed Game-Breaking Bug
In response to player feedback, Capcom has released a critical update for Monster Hunter Wilds. On March 4, 2025, Monster Hunter's official support account, Monster Hunter Status, announced via Twitter (X) that hot fix patch Ver.1.000.04.00 is now available across all platforms. This update tackles several bugs that were hindering player progress, including issues with the "Grill a Meal" and "Ingredient Center" features not unlocking, the Monster Field Guide being inaccessible, and a game-breaking bug that blocked story progression in Chapter 5-2 "A World Turned Upside Down." Players are required to update the game to continue playing online.
However, not all issues have been resolved in this patch. Some remaining bugs include network errors when firing an SOS flare after a quest begins and Palico’s blunt weapon attacks failing to inflict stun and exhaust damage. These multiplayer-related issues are expected to be addressed in a future update.
