As an avid fan, I'm thrilled with Monster Hunter Wilds—from its stunning graphics to the epic battles against diverse monsters, the visually appealing and delicious in-game food, and the impressive array of gear and weapons. Yes, the food is truly a highlight, but let's focus on the game itself. In this article, I'll provide a brief overview of the game and detail its system requirements.

The narrative in Monster Hunter Wilds is best left undiscussed due to its clichéd and unengaging nature. However, it's clear that the story isn't the main draw for the series. A notable change is that the protagonist now speaks, though the dialogue quality feels AI-generated and spans six in-game chapters.

The true allure of Monster Hunter Wilds lies in its intense, lengthy, yet thrilling monster battles. Each monster is unique, offering a diverse combat experience. The protagonist, customizable as either male or female, embarks on an expedition to explore uncharted lands, triggered by the discovery of a child named Nata in the desert. Nata is the sole survivor of a tribe attacked by a mysterious creature known as the "White Ghost."

While the story has become more structured and detailed, it remains secondary to the gameplay. The game often restricts player freedom, adhering to a strict script that can feel limiting by the tenth hour. Completing the campaign takes about 15-20 hours, and for those focused on hunting, the story might feel more like an obstacle. Fortunately, most dialogues and cutscenes can be skipped, which is a significant advantage for players like me who prefer to dive straight into the action.

Hunting in Monster Hunter Wilds has been simplified. When you hit a monster, visible wounds appear on its body. By targeting these wounds, you can deal massive damage and cause parts of the monster to drop, which are now automatically collected—a convenient feature that enhances the gameplay experience. The introduction of rideable pets, like Seikret, further simplifies the game. Seikret automatically runs at maximum speed toward your hunting target or any point on the map, and can even pick you up if you're knocked down, saving you from lengthy recovery animations and potential devastating blows. This feature has been a lifesaver for me, especially when my HP is low.

Seikret's ability to automatically navigate to your destination eliminates the need to constantly check the map, making exploration more seamless. Fast travel to camps is also available, making navigation even easier.

In Monster Hunter Wilds, monsters don't have visible health bars; instead, you must interpret their movements, animations, and sounds to gauge their damage. Your companion will also announce the monster's various states, adding a new layer to the combat experience. Monsters now use the environment more strategically, and some can form packs, leading to challenging multi-enemy encounters. However, you can always call for backup, whether from other players or NPCs, making these battles more manageable and enjoyable.

For those seeking an extra challenge, mods are available to enhance the game's difficulty.
