In the immersive world of NieR: Automata, players are quickly thrust into the action as 2B embarks on her mission. Upon landing and engaging in combat with your flight unit, you'll be equipped with a one-handed sword and a two-handed sword. The two-handed sword, known as the Virtuous Treaty, is a formidable weapon that you'll lose after the prologue. However, the good news is that you can reclaim this powerful weapon early in the next chapter once you gain the ability to freely explore.

Where To Get The Virtuous Treaty In NieR: Automata

The Virtuous Treaty is one of the earliest additional weapons you can acquire in NieR: Automata. After leaving the bunker and landing in the city ruins, head down to the lower area. Look to the left to spot a highway above the nearest access point. Make your way towards the highway by climbing the ruins and running along the main road. This path will lead you back to the factory.

Once you reach the factory, follow the grassy path leading to the main structure. On the left side, you'll find another access point and a set of stairs leading upwards. Head to the upper area and look to the left to see the remnants of the destroyed bridge where you battled the Goliath-class enemy. At the edge of this bridge, you'll find the Virtuous Treaty embedded in the ground, ready to be reclaimed.

Just beyond the sword to the right, you'll discover your old body, which you can loot to recover all the consumables you had during the prologue.

The Virtuous Treaty, like most two-handed weapons, is designed for wide-sweeping attacks that can hit multiple enemies with significant damage. However, it comes with a slower attack speed. With upgrades, this weapon can achieve one of the highest damage outputs in the game, provided you can adapt to its slower pace. You can also integrate this weapon into a combo with a faster weapon by using a heavy attack. While this won't allow for a full combo from the Virtuous Treaty, it can add a powerful hit to a quicker sequence, balancing its slow speed with high damage.
